Champions League winner Real Madrid are reportedly planning to hijack Chelsea’s move for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
According to UK Daily Star report, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is eager to bring in new addition ahead of the new Premier League season that will see the west London side turn to title contenders.
The Stamford Bridge side faced a difficult season during Antonio Conte’s last season at the club and new Italian boss Sarri has added Italian star Jorginho from ex-club Napoli in a deal valued at £57m.
Chelsea are reportedly linked with top players since Sarri’s arrival that include Rugani and Gonzalo Higuain.
The reports further revealed that Chelsea eggheads are heading to Turin, Italy to seal a deal for Rugani
However, Spain’s news channel Don Balon, is reporting that the Los Blancos are eager to hijack Chelsea deal for the Juventus defender.
The report revealed that Los Blancos ace Sergio Ramos is unhappy that Rugani is linked with a switch to the English topflight as he will prefer him at the Spain to provide competition for France international Raphael Varane as well as Ramos.
Don Balon suggests the Serie A champions are ready to listen to offers of €40m (£35.5m) due to the existing relationship between the Galaticos and the Turin-based outfit after selling Cristiano Ronaldo to them this month.
The west London side are eager to boost their squad before the end of the current transfer window and Sarri may face stiff fight to hold on to some of their established squad members.
The duo of Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard are reportedly linked to seal a switch to the Champions League winners while Willian is equally attracting offers from Spain champions Barcelona as well as Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Real Madrid have entered the race for the signing of Juventus star Daniele Rugani with the European champions in talks over a proposed move, Express UK quoting OK Diario.
The 23-year-old defender has been on Chelsea's wishlist for a couple of months as Maurizio Sarri has only made two signings since his appointment as manager.
The Blues have been doing all they can to prise the Italy international away from Serie A club with reports last week claiming Rugani had agreed a five-year deal worth £77,000 a week.
