- Photos of Willian and Alderweireld wearing Manchester United jersey surfaced online
- Old Trafford faithfuls thought United had signed the duo but realized it was a photo-shop
- Jose Mourinho revealed he has one more player to sign before the transfer window shuts
Manchester United supporters finally had something to shout about in the transfer window but their joys were short lived.
Pictures of Toby Alderweireld and Willian posing in Manchester United shirts surfaced online which started doing the rounds.
But vigilant fans noticed that Willian's head was cut off a recent picture of him posing in a Chelsea shirt and stuck onto the body of Paul Pogba.
Both players have been heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford in the past but everything was not as it seemed despite the convincing images.
Alderweireld's picture was also photoshopped wearing a Red Devils shirt with a clear shot of his tattooed arm.
Jose Mourinho has been left frustrated in his quest to bolster his side with new signings this summer.
United's lack of progress was evident in their 4-1 pre-season thrashing in the hands of Liverpool on Saturday night.
The Portuguese tactician sensationally hit out at the club's hierarchy for failing to get deals over the line.
After watching his side's defeat to Liverpool he ranted: "I think I am not going to have two (new signings).
"It is possible that I'm going to have one and that one, I gave at least to my club, five names a few months ago, and I wait to see if it is possible.
"We started the game with a lot of players who will not be in our squad on August 9.
"This is not my squad, not even half, not even 30 per cent of my squad."
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported Joe Mourinho has revealed he has one more signing to make before the transfer window closes.
The Portuguese manager is in need of a center-back and winger but the he has refused to disclose who the player would be.
