Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly stopped the club's chiefs from offloading Victor Lindelof this summer.

He joined the Red Devils from Benfica in 2017 in a deal valued at £31 million, but struggled for playing time at Old Trafford last summer.

The 24-year-old started just 13 games in the English topflight last term as he ranks behind Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the pecking order.

Metro citing L’Equipe reports that Lyon are interested in signing Lindelof before the summer window closes.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils boss is said to be against the idea of allowing the central defender to leave United.

Despite his low-key start to his career at United, Lindelof impressed for Sweden at the World Cup this summer.
