- Valencia are plotting a move for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi in the ongoing summer transfers
- The La Liga side are luring the Belgian with Champions League football rather than rot on Chelsea bench
- Batshuayi spent the second stanza of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund scoring seven goals in 10 matches
Spanish side Valencia are targeting Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi in the ongoing summer transfers as his Blues career remains uncertain, reports suggest.
According to the a UK Sun report citing the Daily Mirror, revealed that the La Liga outfit are hoping to use the lure of UEFA Champions League football to bring the Belgian forward to the Mestalla after Chelsea missed out in Europe’s premier football competition.
Despite the departure of Antonio Conte, 24-year-old Batshuayi appears likely to be once again spending the majority of the forthcoming season on the bench.
The Blues are currently hunting for a new striker all summer, with Bayern Munich's star Robert Lewandowski listed as top target this summer.
However, the La Liga side are hoping to offer a way out for the Belgium international, who gave a good account on loan at Borussia Dortmund last campaign.
Batshuayi netted seven times in 10 Bundesliga matches, before injury stopped his from playing.
The La Liga side grabbed a Champions League spot last season after ending their campaign in Spanish topflight on the 4th spot.
The report added that the promise of big European nights will likely tempt Batshuayi to quit Chelsea and replicate his Dortmund form at the Spanish topflight.
Interestingly, if the deal sees the light of the day the Belgian will step up after Chelsea were able to qualify for the Europa League after a poor season in the English topflight.
During last campaign, Batshuayi could only start three Premier League games at Chelsea last year after playing second fiddle to Alvaro Morata. The west London side equally signed Giroud from Arsenal in January to further force the Belgian down the pecking order.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Chelsea are not convinced Willian's late return to camp was because of passport issues and reports suggest he could be forcing a move out.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and Manchester United in the transfer window.
The Blues rejected three bids from Barca and reportedly accepted a £66m bid from their Manchester rivals.
