- Mateo Kovacic has emerged as a summer transfer target for Manchester United
- The Red Devils are said to have submitted a bid for the Croatia international
- Arsenal, Manchester City are also said to be interested in signing the 24-year-old
Premier League campaigners Manchester United have reportedly launched a £54 million bid for Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic with the hopes of bringing the Croat to Old Trafford.
According to the report by Marca, Mateo Kovacic is ready to leave European champions Real Madrid this summer, but not for a move to Manchester United.
Last season, the 24-year-old started only 10 games for Real Madrid and lack of active playing times is one of the factors that the player is considering to face the exit doors.
He joined the Spanish giants in 2015, but has played second fiddle to midfield trio Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos.
Manchester United have now knocked the door with a bid to lure him to the Premier League, but Kovacic believes the Red Devils' style of football will be difficult for him.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in Mateo Kovacic, but they have not launched an official bid for the Croatia international.
At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Mateo Kovacic played five games for his national team, but he was left on the bench in the final against champions France.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Champions League winners Real Madrid reportedly slammed a price tag of £80 million on Manchester City target and Arsenal Mateo Kovacic.
The 24-year-old was impressive for Croatia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where they lost in the final against France.
