Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not enjoyed the full support of lawmakers in the state as twelve of them declared their support for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Premium Times reports that the lawmakers in a statement on Wednesday, August 1, said they were committed to the APC and President Buhari.
The governor, however, still has control of the House as 18 other lawmakers are supporting him.
It is believed that Tambuwal is hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the PDP ahead of the 2019 election.
Meanwhile, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Wednesday, August 1, who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party said, the APC has brazenly turned itself into a sanctuary for the corrupt and a machine for rigging.
The Nation reports that the governor also said the country economy is not showing any real signs of improvement saying that it is unacceptable that majority of those who voted for APC in 2015 should have nothing good to show for it.
