- Barcelona defender Mina is now at the top of Manchester United's wish-list after failing to sign Leicester's Harry Maguire
- Two other Premier League clubs are reportedly eager to sign the Colombian World Cup star
- The Old Trafford side are keen to complete Mina’s switch before next week's transfer deadline
Premier League giants Manchester United are plotting a £35m deal for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina.
According to a Mirror report, the Barcelona defender is now No 1 target for the Premier League giants after failing to seal a deal for Leicester defender Harry Maguire.
Two other Premier League sides Everton and Wolves are reportedly eager to sign Mina, but the Colombian is likely to favour a switch to Manchester.
Already, Manchester United’s chief negotiator is heading to Nou Camp to try and complete Mina’s swoop ahead of next week's transfer deadline.
Additional reports from UK Sun confirmed that a top Manchester United official Matt Judge has rushed to Spain to push through the deal after Jose Mourinho's statement that the Red Devils urgently need new signings.
The Old Trafford side were plotting a £65m deal for Maguire but Leicester eggheads were uncompromising to let the England's Three Lions World Cup hero dump the King Power Stadium for Old Trafford.
Interestingly, the Foxes are working to tie Maguire down on a new four-year contract valued at £100,000-a-week.
The England international has four years left on his present contract deal after arriving from Hull City last summer but is expected to get a major wage-rise following a decent performance at the summer World Cup.
The Foxes tackle the Red Devils in their Premier League opener next Friday but Maguire would not play any role as he is yet to rejoin the Foxes squad after an extended post-World Cup vacation.
Reacting after Leicester City’s draw with Valencia, club boss Claude Puel said: "I don't want to make comments telling about contract or details or different things.
“The most important and only thing is Harry comes back and enjoys playing with us and to prepare for the new season with the right mind.
“I am have no hesitation about this.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported Manchester United were left speechless in their chase for Leicester City star Harry Maguire after the Foxes asked for a record-equaling deal for the defender, according to a UK Metro report.
Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho is eager to land a centre-back at the ongoing summer transfer and the Old Trafford dwellers tried to price Maguire two weeks ago after failing to seal a move for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld with the North London side insisting on £75million.
On the other hand, Maguire moved to Leicester City last summer in a deal that could rise to as much as £17m but his valuation increased after a decent performance at the global football fiesta with England’s Three Lions, appearing in all seven of England games.
