Lai Mohammed's driver denies defecting to PDP, abandoning his boss on highway

- Aliyu Omeiza, the official driver to the minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed, has spoken about an alleged social media report against him

- Omeiza noted that he didn't abandon his boss, Mohammed on the road in Abuja and decamp to the PDP

- He said the report is an example of fake news that the minister has been talking about

Aliyu Omeiza, the official driver to the minister of information and vulture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has denied social media report that he abandoned the minister on the road in Abuja and decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Omeiza in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, August 1, said the report was fake because such incident did not happen.

He said: “It is a lie, nothing like that happened. I drove my Oga to the Villa in the morning where he attended the Federal Executive Council meeting.

”We also went to some other places with all the security details before I closed for work. I am not a politician, I do not belong to any political party, not to talk of decamping.

”This is an example of fake news that Oga has been talking about.”

Omeiza who said he has been driving the minister for years said he has no reason to leave the minister because he has been so good to him.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed started a nationwide tour of federal government’s infrastructural projects nationwide with an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line.

Mohammed, along with the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Tuesday, May 8, led a team of over 30 journalists on a tour of the fabrication plant of the project in Papalanto, Ogun state.

The ministers and their entourage had earlier travelled by train from Ebute-Metta in Lagos to Papalanto, where they inspected the laying of the rail tracks, the rail-track slippers construction site and other accessories of the project.

After the tour, the ministers held a meeting with the contractors of the project, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), officials of the federal ministry of transportation and other officials to review the progress of work on the project.
