- The Red Devils want to sign out of favour Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele this summer
- Arsenal have been heavily linked with the winger all summer long after failing to impress at Camp Nou last term
- He won the World Cup with France in Russia last month
Manchester United are reportedly planning to beat fellow Premier League outfit Arsenal to the signing of Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele this summer.
The 21-year-old joined Barcelona in the summer of 2017 from German League side Borussia Dortmund but his first season was marred by injuries.
Owing to the injuries he suffered in his debut season at the Camp Nou, he was unable to make an impact on his return.
However, the Spanish giants are said to have concluded plans to ship out the French star after signing Brazilian winger Malcom.
Dembele was part of the France team that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after beating Croatia in the final match on July 15.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old as Unai Emery looks to add to his star-studded attack.
The Gunners will be hoping they can reunite him with his former teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates.
But the north Londoners will have to pay €100 million (£89m) to get the youngster as reports in Spain have suggested that the Catalan giants are desperate to sell in order to raise funds to bring in Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
The Red Devils on the other hand might use Barca's interest in Pogba to their advantage and hijack Arsenal’s plans.
According to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Dembele to Old Trafford.
The outfit also reported that United had wanted Ivan Rakitic in part-exchange for Pogba.
But Barca have offered Dembele instead and Mourinho could scupper Arsenal’s transfer hopes should he agree.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Spanish giants Barcelona offered star striker Ousmane Dembele to Arsenal in a bid to stop Real Madrid and Manchester United from signing Hector Bellerin.
Barcelona signed Dembele from Borussia Dormund last summer but the Frenchman has endured a problematic first season at the Nou Camp.
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin on the other hand has emerged as a summer transfer target for Barcelona and Los Blancos want to try and lure him to Spain this summer.
