Spain international Cesc Fabregas has emerged as a serious doubt for Chelsea's start to the 2018/19 Premier League campaign due to injury.
According to the report by UK Sun, the former Arsenal star will miss the Community Shield tie between his club Chelsea who won the FA Cup last season, and EPL champions Manchester City.
The 31-year-old revealed on his Instagram story with a photo of him on crutches and stressed that that it will be used for the next couple of days.
And that will almost certainly rule him out of the annual curtain-raiser against Pep Guardiola’s side Manchester City.
Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri will be sweating on the fitness of Cesc Fabregas for next week's Premier League kick-off where they will face Huddersfield Town.
Previously, NAIJ.com had reported how former Premier League champions Chelsea will start their campaign in the 2018/19 season against Huddersfield Town which is an away game for the Blues.
Manchester City who are the reigning Premier League champions will kick off the defense of their title against former EPL champions Leicester City.
