- Ivan Perisic will reportedly accept an opportunity to play for Manchester United from Inter Milian
- The World Cup star desires to play in the English topflight and still is on Jose Mourinho’s summer wish-list
- The 29-year-old was scouted previously but United could not match Inter’s £50m price
Croatia World Cup star Ivan Perisic reportedly will accepted an opportunity to team up with Manchester United after acknowledging his desire to play in the English topflight before ending his career.
According to a UK Metro report, the 29-year-old Inter Milan midfielder is one of Jose Mourinho’s top summer transfer targets last summer but the Old Trafford outfit failed to meet the Serie A club’s £50 million asking price.
In the ongoing summer transfers the forward is reportedly linked again with a switch to the Red Devils after excellent performances for Croatia’s Blazers at the summer World Cup in Russia.
Last September, Perisic penned a new five-year contract extension with Inter with the midfielder admitting he would only leave the Serie A outfit to move to a “top league and top club”.
“Honestly, I would like to test myself in all of the biggest leagues but the question is will I have the time, I am 29 and working to extend my career as long as I can,” Perisic was quoted as saying to Sportske Novosti.
"Yes, I’d like to play in England and Spain but I don’t know if there is enough time left."
Questioned further on his relationship with Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac: “He had very big influence on me, I played great for Croatia under him and I congratulate him on everything he has done in Germany and signing for Bayern.
“If they want me, they know where to find me!”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Manchester United France star Paul Pogba is reportedly dreaming of switching to Spanish giants Barcelona because he wants to play with Lionel Messi.
According to a UK Daily Star report, the Frenchman is eager to build on his club career after helping France's Les Bleus claim their second World Cup title in Russia.
At the global football fiesta in the summer, Pogba netted a wonderful goal as Les Bleus beat Croatia’s Blazers 4-2 to claim the top prize.
