Senators Dino Melaye and Ben Murray-Bruce on Tuesday, August 7, reacted to the barricaded of the main gate of the National Assembly, by the operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS)
Senator Dino Melaye declared that the battle to protect democracy is a battle of no retreat, no surrender.
On his part, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce through his Twitter handle said: ''I am here at the National Assembly. I will not run away. If they like they can shoot me. Bullets did not bring me into office. Ballots brought me into office. I am here. Let them do their worst.''
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported Department of State Services took over the National Assembly complex.
The lawmakers as well as staff of the National Assembly were initially prevented from entering the premises by operatives of the DSS.

In a related development, the acting President Yemi Osinbajo sacked the director-general of the DSS, Lawal Daura.
A statement by Laolu Akande, his spokesperson, said: “The acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has directed the termination of the appointment of the director general, State Security Service, Lawal Musa Daura, with immediate effect.
''Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice.”
Osinbajo also summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the director-general of the Department of State Security, Malam Lawan Daura at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
