- The Croatian star World Cup star has been frequently linked with a Premier League clubs
Turkish club Besiktas are willing to trade Croatian star Domagoj Vida to Arsenal today - but the Premier League side failed to raise the cash on time.
According to a UK Sun report, Besiktas are asking for £18million plus an additional £4.5m in potential bonuses for their summer World Cup star centre-half.
However, Arsenal have not been able to raise the cash to table an offer for the 29-year-old.
At the moment they now feel it is getting late to put a deal together before today’s 5pm transfer deadline.
Already, Lucas Perez has sealed a cut-price £4million switch to West Ham today, but Arsenal still need to offload at least one player to stand any chance of affording Vida.
Interestingly, Arsenal chiefs considered offering Danny Welbeck and David Ospina in a swoop deal but the Turkish side insisted on cash only.
Vida has been frequently linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer with Liverpool also interested.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Spanish striker Lucas Perez has joined Premier League side West Ham from Arsenal in a deadline day deal.
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers after spending two years on loan with Deportivo La Caruna since 2017.
Perez managed to score eight goals in 35 matches for Deportivo who have been relegated into the Segunda division in Spain last season.
