It is no news that majority of Nigerian music stars find pleasure in drinking excessive alcohol and smoking before any stage performance. Some of them revealed that they do this so as to get rid of stage fright and boost their confidence on stage.
Nigerian singer Terry Apala has a different story to tell. The music star in a recent interview disclosed that he does not do drugs or other substances to maintain his vocals rather, he is fond of taking soft drinks.
According to Punch, Terry Apala added that although it is hard for people to believe him but that is just the way it is. He doesn’t drink alcohol and smoke before any stage performance.
He said: “I do not drink or smoke whether to perform on stage or while I’m in a public gathering. People can testify to the fact that when I’m out or invited for shows, I prefer to take soft drinks. It is very difficult to believe and people find it shocking but I was brought up in a humble and disciplined background. If you want to make me happy, just get me an energy drink and ice.”
It did not end there, the young man further revealed that he is not one of these musicians who spends majority of their time doing covers for other people’s songs but has several of his hit songs produced by his team.
Talented Nigerian dance hall singer Timaya recently took to his Instagram handle to address certain perceptions some of his fans have about him. According to his Instagram video, he stated that he doesn't think of himself as being rude or arrogant.
