- David Luiz has been praised by Maurizio Sarri after win at Huddersfield
- The Brazilian fell out of favour with former manager Antonio Conte
- The 31-year-old played full 90 minutes in the Blues 3-0 win at the weekend
Chelsea manager Mauricio Sarri has waxed lyrical over David Luiz - insisting the Brazilian has a 'big future' at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz was frozen under Antonio Conte last season, which cost him a place in Brazil's squad to the World Cup in Russia.
However the 31-year-old was impresive in his first Premier League start since February against Huddersfield Town.
The center-back put in a stellar performance on Saturday as the Blues eased to their first Premier League win of the season.
The ex-Paris Saint-Germain ace was rarely troubled following his defensive pairing with Antonio Rudiger, and often started attacks after playing out from the back.
And the 59-year-old boss has revealed Luiz is one of his key players at the west London club.
Sarri said: "I very much enjoy his attitude when I am working with him.
"He is also a very good player and a very good defender. David is very good at building up action from our defence with the way he plays.
"David has a big future here. He will be very useful for us but not just on the pitch, he is also important in the dressing room."
Luiz revealed how he is enjoying working under the new manager, claiming he is in love with Sarri's philosophy - where he starts two centre-halves instead of Conte's three.
Sarri added: "I disagree that he [Luiz] can only play as one of three central defenders.
"If you are a good defender you can play in a defensive line of three and you can also play in a four.
"I don't know about what happened in the past but now he has a good chance. We only have to carry on like we are doing now with him."
