- The internet has been stirred with the photos of some patriotic officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
- The operatives took photos of themselves trying to cross a river somewhere in Taraba state in a final attempt to register voters ahead of the 2019 general polls
- This is coming after the electoral commission had set Friday, August 17, as the deadline for registration
Photos supposedly to be those of the operatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been published online, Punch reports.
The said photos posted on INEC's verified Twitter handle, @inecnigeria, reveal some personnel of the electoral commission stemming the tide of deep waters in the Kurmi local government area of Taraba state in search of voters that are yet unregistered ahead of the 2019 general polls.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday, July 30, made an order for the remand of three officials of INEC in the Ikoyi prison.
NAIJ.com gathered that the remand order was made by Justice Muslim Hassan shortly after the three officials, attached to Ogun state, were arraigned for allegedly laundering N179.8m.
The commission alleged that the defendants, Yemi Akinwonmi, Dickson Atiba and Ogunmodede Oladayo, conspired among themselves and took possession of the N179.8m in March 2015, days before the general elections.
