Serie A club Roma beat Arsenal to the signing of Steven Nzonzi

- Nzonzi signs for Stadio Olympico outfit Roma from Sevilla for £28.5million

- The France international signed a four year deal with the Serie A side

- The Italian club has now signed seven new players for the coming season

Roma have signed France international Steven N'Zonzi for a fee reported to be around £28.5million from Sevilla.

The 29-year-old Olympico signed a four-year contract with the Serie A side and will earn around £60,000-a-week.

The former Stoke City midfielder moved to Sevilla in 2015 and has played 137 games at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

N'Zonzi who has also been linked with Arsenal was not part of Sevilla squad that lost 2-1 to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup played in Morocco.

However the midfielder played a part in Didier Deschamps' squad that won the World Cup with France at Russia.

The Champions League semi finalists have now added Nzonzi to the likes of Justin Kluivert from Ajax, Javier Pastore from Paris Saint-Germain, Gregoire Defrel from Sassuolo, Davide Santon from Inter, Patrik Schick from Sampdoria and Bryan Cristante on loan from Atalanta.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is a summer transfer target for AC Milan, according to the latest transfer rumours from Italy.

Italian new media outfit La Repubblica suggest the Serie A giants are keen to add a superstar signing this summer and have identified Martial as a leading candidate.
