The national working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by its chairman, Adams Oshiomhole had a meeting at the Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday, August 14.

The committee met with the National Assembly APC caucus members to strategise towards reconvening the two chambers of the legislature which has been on recess.

However, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who is rumoured to be making plans of defecting to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party was visibly absent at the meeting.

Dogara as the number one man at the House of Representatives and also a member of the APC was expected to be at the meeting.

The meeting comes shortly after the Speaker and the Senate President in a joint statement explained why the National Assembly could not reconvene on Tuesday, August 14, to deliberate on the INEC budget for the preparation of the 2019 general election.
