Toni Kroos dismisses Mesut Ozil racism allegations

- Toni Kroos has rubbished Mesut Ozil's claims which forced him to international retirement

- The Real Madrid star believes the manner Ozil retired from international football was not good

- He claimed that the Arsenal man was not the only German player that was criticized after the World Cup

Real Madrid and German football star Toni Kroos has blasted Arsenal star Mesut Ozil by dismissing his racism allegations as nonsense.

After the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Arsenal star Mesut Ozil announced his retirement from international football, claiming he has faced racism because of his Turkish roots.

Mesut Ozil also met controversial Turkey president Recep Erdogan before the 2018 World Cup which was won by France.

"The manner of his retirement was not okay.

''The proportion that is properly addressed in his statement is unfortunately overshadowed by the much higher proportion of nonsense.

"I think that he knows that racism does not exist within the national team and the German FA. On the contrary, we are always committed to diversity and integration.

"Mesut was criticized for the photo and rightly so. And he missed the chance to explain himself. Nevertheless, he was absolutely supported by the leadership and the team.

"Later he was as others were criticized for the performance at the World Cup. The type of criticism was certainly not always at a good level, but then you have to go through as a player,'' Toni Kroos told the Bild according to UK Sun.
