- Los Blancos have shown interest in signing World Cup winning star Paul Pogba
- They were beaten 4-2 by Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday, August 15
- Reports reveal that both Mourinho and Pogba are yet to reach a compromise as their feud enter another level
Real Madrid have reportedly jumped in the chase to sign unsettled Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.
The midfielder, who led France to the 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph in Russia has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona but the move wasn't sanctioned by the Old Trafford's chiefs.
However, with Los Blancos disappointing defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup in Estonia on Wednesday, the Red Devils have to fight to keep their star man.
Reports coming out of the club reveal that the former Juventus midfielder is seriously considering a way out of his current club following the bold statement he made after United's victory over Leicester in their EPL opener last weekend.
Daily Star quoting Don Balon claim Florentino Perez is ready to go all out to secure a deal after an impressive World Cup performance earlier this summer.
The publication also reveal that the UEFA Champions League holders have assured the the 25-year-old be made the main man at the club.
Should he decide to join Barca, Pogba would be behind Lionel Messi as the Catalans are hoping to win another European title this summer.
Mourinho made the midfielder captain for United’s first match of the season against Leicester last Friday, but former Manchester United star Paul Ince has slammed the France ace and thinks Mourinho should give him the boot.
He told Paddy Power: "You'd like to think that when Paul Pogba went away to the World Cup, where he was fantastic, he'd have come back with a winners' medal and felt a lot happier going into the new season.
"But, since he's come back, he's been a nightmare. As a player, irrespective of whether you're happy or unhappy, there are ways to conduct yourself.
"He captained United in their opening game of the season against Leicester, played brilliantly, and then came out with those quotes afterwards.
"I really can't understand why he'd do that other than to get attention and set tongues wagging."
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Manchester United pair Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba’s relationship have hit a new low after an extraordinary bust-up.
According to SunSport, the Portuguese manager warned the Frenchman not to talk about his grievances through the media and said if he wants to quit the club “again” he should ask for a transfer.
The 25-year-old hit back by telling Mourinho if he plans to speak to him formally again he should go through his agent Mino Raiola.
