- Trabzonspor have secured the signature of Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward Anthony Nwakeame
- The Super Eagles star sealed a €1M deal to the Turkish side
- The 29-year-old joined Be’er Sheva in 2015
Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakeame has sealed a switch to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor from Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva after both teams agreed a reported fee of €1 million.
According to an AOIFootball.com report the move was initially delayed as Be’er Sheva were hopeful of keeping the 1-cap Super Eagles striker for their campaign in the Europa League qualifiers.
However, that was not to be as Nwakaeme will now team up with compatriot fellow Eddy Ogenyi Onazi at the modest Turkish topflight campaigners.
The 29-year-old Nwakaeme moved to Be’er Sheva in 2015 and has won three consecutive Israeli league titles and emerged the best player in the League in 2016.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has joined Italian topflight side Udinese in a €3.3 million from Turkish League side Bursaspor.
The central defender was impressive for the Super Eagles in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where the three time African champions crashed out at the group stage.
He also performed well for his former side during their preseason preparations, and also scored his side's first goal of the season in their slim defeat to Fenerbache in the Turkish Super League opener last weekend.
