EPL champions, Manchester City, convincingly continued their pursuit to retain the title on Sunday, August 19, when they hammered Huddersfield Town 6-1 in their second match of the new season at Etihad stadium.
The tough tie saw Pep Guardiola make three changes to his squad that faced Arsenal in their Premier League opener, handing David Silva, Vincent Kompany and Gabriel Jesus a start as Kyle Walker, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez dropped to the bench.
Argentine star forward Sergio Aguero bagged a spectacular hat-trick during the match after opening the scoring for City in the 25th minute.
Gabriel Jesus made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, who scraped a low shot past Hamer at the near post after a brilliant build-up led by Silva.
Aguero scored his second of the day four minutes later, before completing his glorious hat-trick in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile, Jon Gorenc Stanković scored a consolation for the Terries just two minutes before half-time after scoring from close range.
In the second-half, Silva got his name on the scoresheet from a beautiful free-kick that was curled over the wall and into the top corner.
Terence Kongolo wrapped up City's convincing victory before their faithfuls with an own goal, directing the ball to his own net from a rebounds.
This was City's second win, following their 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
