- England international Loftus-Cheek might force a loan move away from Chelsea in January
- He played no part in his side's 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Stamford Bridge over the weekend
- The midfielder spent last term on loan at Crystal Palace and might be returning to the Selhurst Park
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set for new contract talks with his Premier League side in the coming days.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues spent last season on a season long loan deal at Crystal Palace where he scored two goals in 24 topflight appearances.
He joined the Stamford Bridge outfit as a youth player in 2004 and made his senior debut for the west London club in their 3-1 win over Sporting CP in Champions League group after coming on for Cesc Fàbregas in the last seven minutes of the fixture.
Meanwhile, the England international will be forced to ask for a loan move if he doesn't get regular playing time at the club under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Loftus-Cheek made four appearances for the Three Lions at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and wants to build on his breakthrough by playing every week.
The former Crystal Palace star was an unused substitute for Chelsea in their 3-2 win over Arsenal over the weekend.
He came in for Ross Barkley in the 68th minute of their 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their opening day win at the John Smith's Stadium.
Crystal Palace according to the Sun are reportedly interested in another loan deal for the player that played an important role in their fight against relegation last term.
Sarri also told Loftus-Cheek he was part of his plans, although Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Ross Barkley have been picked ahead of him so far.
But Mateo Kovacic was called upon to replace Barkley in Saturday's 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge leaving Loftus-Cheek well down the pecking order.
The Italian boss has none other than Cesc Fabregas to add into the mix as well, with the former Arsenal and Barcelona player missing the wins over Huddersfield and his former side through a knee injury.
With the Premier League window closed, Loftus-Cheek could get loaned to a club in Germany, Spain or France.
There were suggestions a move to Schalke may have been on the cards but the German club, who were also offered Danny Rose and Danny Drinkwater this month, ruled it out stating Loftus-Cheek would have been too expensive.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that German League outfit Schalke 04 wanted to re-sign Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer.
He was part of the Chelsea team that spanked Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
The Mirror reported that the former England U21 star is also being linked with a number of top European clubs.
