Liverpool on Monday night, August 20, continued with their impressive performance in the new season beating Crystal Palace 2-0 in a Premier League match played at the Selhurst Park.
32-year-old English professional football star James Milner scored one of the two goals that condemned Crystal Palace to a defeat as Liverpool moved to second on the Premier League standings.
But Crystal Palace had the first chance in the match when Christian Benteke delivered a clever pass for Wilfried Zaha, but he was unable to beat Alisson Becker in goal for Liverpool.
Liverpool scored their goal in the 45th minute when Mamadou Sakho tripped Mohamed Salah in box in which the referee gave a penalty which was converted by James Milner.
Senegal international Sadio Mane also had a good chance to increase the scoreline for Liverpool in the 60th minute, but he was superbly denied by Wayne Hennessey.
Sadio Mane finally scored his goal at the death when Mohamed Salah provided a superb assist for him for Liverpool to win the match 2-0 and go second on the League standings.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Liverpool defeated their Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City to the signing of Ajax wonder-kid Ki-Jana Hoever.
The 16-year-old defender has since January this year emerged as a summer transfer target for these Premier League campaigners.
