The police command in Ekiti has arrested the suspected mad man who reportedly killed Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin, the traditional ruler of Odo-Oro in Ikole local government area of the state.
The police carried out a high-profile search for him after the suspect stabbed the monarch with a knife and fled into the bush on Monday, August 20, Naija News reports.

Caleb Ikechukwu, the police public relations officer on Tuesday, August 21, revealed that the Oba's killer, identified as Omoniyi Ademola Stephen, has been arrested.
Ikechukwu said that Ademola was arrested by 4:30pm on Monday, August 20, around Ajao Market in Ado-Ekiti and he is being investigated.
He said: “He confessed to the crime and our investigation continues. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation.”
Ikechukwu assured locals in the area that the police will be professional in their investigation into the circumstances surrounding development.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported that Odo-Oro-Ekiti, a town in Ikole local government area of Ekiti, was on Monday, August 20, thrown into mourning as its traditional ruler, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin, was stabbed to death 32 years after he ascended the throne.
NAIJ.com gathered that some residents, who spoke, said the traditional ruler was stabbed with a knife by a man suspected to be insane after a meeting of the traditional council.
