Mammoth crowd on Wednesday, August 22, witnessed a town hall meeting organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom.
NAIJ.com reports that a presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, made this known on her Facebook page on Wednesday, August 22.
The former governor of the state, Senator Godswill Akpabio, had recently defected from his former party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.
Onochie wrote: "This is not the first time Senator Akpabio is hosting a Town hall meeting. But this is the first time Buhari's constituency is supporting Senator Akpabio, in a Town hall meeting and the Town hall, could not accommodate them.
"Another evidence that south-south has been held down by shear force of PDP rigging of elections for 19 years. It would be interesting in 2019 as there'll be no rigging. God bless Nigeria.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, appointed former Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio as the party's leader in Akwa Ibom state.
NAIJ.com gathered that Oshiomhole made the disclosure on Wednesday, August 8, at the Ikot Ekpene stadium, venue of the reception rally for Akpabio who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).
