Valverde believes there is no more competition between Ronaldo and Messi

- Ernesto Valverde believes the battle between Ronaldo and Messi is over

- This is because Cristiano Ronaldo has left La Liga for the Italian League

- Before he left Real Madrid, he was involved in a battle for superiority with Messi for nine years

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has stated clearly that the competition between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is over following Cristiano's move to Juventus this summer.

These two superstars were embroiled in a battle for superiority for around nine years in the Spanish La Liga winning many trophies for their clubs.

But after Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Italian champions Juventus, Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says the battle between Cristiano and Messi is over.

''Ronaldo leaving would seem to have ended the competition between Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo because people rarely mention one without mentioning the other.

''A lot of people are interested, me too, to see how it will affect Real Madrid's football and what they might do in the transfer market.

''Also, knowing that Ronaldo is at another club and what that might mean for La Liga and the Champions League too,'' Valverde told the club's official magazine according to Dailymail.

During their tussle for dominance between 2009 and 2018, the pair helped their respective teams to countless trophies.

Messi clinched La Liga six times while Cristiano Ronaldo only managed two domestic titles.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino took to social media to show off the injuries he sustained against Juventus when he had a collision with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Italian goalie was left unconscious on the ground after making contact with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as they both went for a loose ball.

Ronaldo who was playing his first League game for Juventus was anxious to score on his debut which he never did although Juventus won the match 3-2.
