- Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has spoken for the first time about Arsenal new manager Unai Emery
- The former PSG boss joined the Gunners this summer after taking over from former handler Arsene Wenger
- Arsenal are yet to win any game in the 2018-9 Premier League season
Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi seems to be enjoying life under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery at the Emirates Stadium.
The 46-year-old tactician took over as the Gunners boss earlier this summer after the departure of Arsene Wenger at the end of last season.
Wenger reigned for 22 years at the north London side before parting ways with the club after winning three Premier League titles and other domestic cups.
However, Iwobi and his teammates are enjoying the change Emery brought with him to the club, who opened his goal account for the season against Chelsea last weekend.
"It’s exciting times to be fair. Everybody’s enjoying and buying into the new ideas," Iwobi told Arsenal player.
"For me personally, I’m enjoying the new sessions, the new training methods and the new ideas, so I’m enjoying my time with him.
"He demands a lot. He’s a lot more intense, a lot of high pressing and keeping the ball so that it benefits us if we have the ball. It’s good for us, especially the attackers who like to have the ball a lot.
"It’s making me feel a bit sharper, I’m doing things with a bit more intensity. It’s not just for me, though, I feel like I’m helping the team a lot more. It’s benefiting me a lot more.
"Whenever something in the system changes, you have to prove yourself again. But wherever you go, you have to prove that you’re better than whoever else is on the team.
"At a team like Arsenal, that’s always going to be hard so I always have to be on it in training and matches.
"I’ve got to be different. It’s going to be hard because we’ve got so many attackers and so many world-class players, so I’ve just got to prove that I’m on that level or as good as them so that I can be ahead of them, which is my aim."
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Premier League side Arsenal were ready to cash in on Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi this summer.
Daily Star reports that the Emirates dwellers are willing to sell Alex Iwobi for £22.3m (€25m) as new suitors from the Serie A are in need of the Nigerian international.
Italy’s Il Messaggero reports, Iwobi is attracting a potential deal from Lazio, who are eager to replace Felipe Anderson who recently joined West Ham.
