Emerging reports claimed that Nigeria Army on Thursday morning, August 23, stormed Ikorordu area of Lagos state following an alleged murder of a soldier by suspected cultists in the area.
Guardian reports that the soldiers besieged Solomada estate area of the state in search of the suspected killers of their colleague.
It was learnt that cult clash in Ikorodu were recently causing residents to panic while many of them decided to leave their homes for safety reasons.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that there is serious panic in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, as residents of Adamo, Mojoda, Arora and Ipoyewa were terrorised by rival cult groups.
In a telephone conversation with one of the residents, it was gathered that a fight ensued between the Black Axe and Eiye confraternity groups on Wednesday, July 5, leaving more than six people dead in the process.
The woman who pleaded anonymity also said that people have been restricted from leaving the confines of their homes by members of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and vigilante groups in the area.

According to her, some group of persons suspected to be members of the Black Axe cult were dressed in all black and each of them carried machetes.
In a related development, one person was killed while several others were wounded following a bloody attack on Ikorodu campus of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) by suspected cultists.
The deceased, identified as Ahmed Amao, was a former LASPOTECH student who had been expelled from the institution. The groups of hoodlums invaded the Ikorodu campus from different directions, chasing the students around the polytechnic with guns, machetes and knives.
