Jack Wilshere’s 17-year stint at Premier League giants, Arsenal came to a sudden end after just 15 minutes, reports suggest.

The England Three Lion’s ace was out of contract at Emirates and despite being offered a new deal he decided to move on in search of regular football.

“I spoke with him for 15 minutes here in Colney (training ground) before he left.

“And then, he chooses what the best was for him in his future.

“Our conversation was very clear. For me, one thing is important for him - to be a protagonist in a new project.

“Because maybe here he would not be the protagonist each match on the pitch.

“It is more competitive situation for him to play. I am happy if he finds (an opportunity to be the) protagonist at West Ham. The first conversation was in this direction.

“I think we closed this conversation in this moment. Now I am very concentrated for us and for our players and also I wish him the best in his career at West Ham - but not Saturday,” the Spaniard Emery was quoted as saying.

Interestingly, the 26-year-old Wilshere, who was keen at staying Arsenal suddenly made a U-turn after the Gunners boss made it clear he does not feature in his plans going forward.

Quickly, the England midfielder had few options as he cleared his locker, say his goodbyes and eventually switched to West Ham on a free transfer.

Emery insists Wilshere is a wonderful personality and will no doubt get a wonderful reception when he returns on matchday.

On Saturday, I know that here, the supporters like him and have this respect also. I think there is a good reception for him here.

“Before the match we can remember him. And then over 90 minutes we are thinking about winning this match,” Emery added.

Both clubs have suffered back-to-back defeats in their new Premier League fixtures.

The Spaniard is early days bashing for trying to introduce a shift in the Gunners playing style too soon - as he demands a more pressing game.

However, the former PSG boss is not ready to change his philosophy as he hunts for his first win in the Premier League.

“In our process, we are going 38 matches against all the teams - whether you are playing against Manchester City, it’s the same as if you’re playing against West Ham.

There are three points on this game. It’s clear that every game demands different things tactically.

“After the first two matches, we have two defeats and we need to win this match,” Emery submitted.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that former Arsenal star midfielder Jack Wilshere has sent new Gunners manager Unai Emery a fiery warning, ahead of his emotional return to the Emirates.

According to reports Wilshere will be out to prove Emery was wrong to end his stay at the Gunners.

Emery is said to have informed the 26-year old that he was unlikely to feature regularly under his reign at the London club following the signings of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
