- Maxmilliano Allegri reveals Cristiano Ronaldo will be benched if need be
- The Juventus manager said the Portuguese will be preserved in future games
- Ronaldo will be making his home debut for Juventus when they take on Lazio
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has said he would not hesitate to leave Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench if he felt the striker needed to save energy.
Allegri confirmed that Ronaldo would start in Saturday's game against Lazio, where he will make his home debut in Turin, but that things would change as the season draws on.
Italian champions won their opening Serie A fixture 3-2 at Chievo last Saturday when Ronaldo made his debut.
"He has to understand that there will be times when he starts on the bench and then just plays half an hour," Allegri said.
"Even he will need a break at some point. At Real Madrid, he was excellently managed."
He added: "Ronaldo trains very competitively, he takes nothing for granted and is a champion, building his own success over the years through hard work and sacrifice.
"He is a great example for the younger players and he raises our overall quality... Ronaldo is bringing a great enthusiasm to Italian football."
The Portugese superstar will be looking to score his first goal of the season against Lazio who lost their first game to Napoli at the Stadio Olympico.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo revealed Sir Alex Ferguson gave him a hairdryer for over doing too many step-overs in his early years at Manchester United.
The Portugal international is arguably the brightest gem of them all polished by Sir Alex, who was manager at Old Trafford for 26 years.
