- Belgium international Courtois is yet to make his Real Madrid debut after two La Liga games
- He joined the Galacticos from Chelsea this summer after failing to report to camp
- The Russia 2018 bronze winning keeper forced his way out of the Blues team despite having one more season on his contract
Real Madrid came from one goal down to beat Girona 4-1 to maintain their 100% win run to the 2018-19 Spanish League season.
Borja Garcia opened scoring for the hosts in the 17th minutes but Sergio Ramos' spot kick in the 39th minute leveled parity for Los Blancos.
Gareth Bale doubled his side's lead and a brace from Karim Benzeme sealed the victory for the visitors to ensure they maintain their winning run.
However, Real boss Julen Lopetegui opted to start Keylor Navas in goal rather than summer signing Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian goalkeeper forced a move away from Chelseas but has failed to start any game for the European champions.
After his departure, the Blues replaced him with Spanish international Kepa Arrizabalaga in a world football of £71 million for goalkeepers.
Courtois is still waiting to put on a Real shirt and many fans think that the wait might go on for a while yet.
They were so impressed with the display of Navas - who played a key role in Bale's goal with a quick throw to Isco, who in turn released the Welshman - that many think he should keep the No.1 shirt.
After the match though, Lopetegui claimed that he'll decide who his goalkeeper will be on a game-by-game basis.
"It's not a situation that's easy to understand but it's simple enough to explain," he told reporters.
"I've got some really good options in goal and there are no problems in that area. We'll decide what's best for each game.
"Keylor got the nod today and did very well. There's great competition and that makes us stronger in the goalkeeping department. I've got some thoughts in my mind, but I'm not going to share them.
"Over the course of the season, I'll look for solutions to solve the next immediate challenge."
NAIJ.com previously reported that Real Madrid have tabled a £41.5m bid for Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, suggest reports coming out of Spain.
Daily Star quoting Don Balon revealed that the Los Blancos are in the search of a new shot-stopper after former manager Zinedine Zidane quit the La Liga outfit after their Champions League final victory over Liverpool.
