Barcelona duo of Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets have angrily expressed their displeasure towards the stadio Jose Zorrilla pitch which is the home ground of Real Valladolid.
On Sunday, August 26, the Spanish champions found it hard to play their normal style of football against Real Valladolid due to the bad nature of the pitch.
But despite that, Ousmane Dembele’s 57th-minute goal was enough for Barcelona to maintain their perfect start to the season as they beat Real Valladolid 1-0.
"It is a sad state of affairs that you play like this in the best League in the world.
"Nobody from La Liga showed the dignity to come and see the pitch, it was not possible to play. It is more like a beach. It was very uneven but it was the same for both teams,.
“Before we sell our product abroad, we'd do well to look here first.
"They want to take our players to the US, but the state of the grass today was a disgrace.
"The players risked getting injured. It was very regrettable and I hope action is taken on the matter." Gerard Pique said according to UK Sun.
Barcelona have filed an official complaint and the La Liga body are also said to have started their investigation on the Real Valladolid's pitch.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Barcelona recorded a 1-0 win over Spanish La Liga returnees Real Valladolid in what was their second game in the 2018/19 season in Spain.
Frenchman Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal that gave Barcelona the three points in the 57th minute.
