Just like every other part of the world, Nigeria has also been identified as a country where some gay men and women are living in peace and harmony. However, they have tried not to reveal their true identity on social media but loads of cross dressers have taken over Instagram.
Ex-governor of Cross Rivers state and presidential aspirant, Donald Duke, have openly revealed the plans he has for gay men and women in Nigeria.
He made this statement in an interview with Falz and Laila on ‘On the Couch’ show. He presidential aspirant disclosed that he does not understand the emotional feelings a gay person has towards someone of the same sexuality.
Donald Duke said: “I don’t understand the emotional feelings a gay person would have toward someone of their sexuality. I don’t understand it. But I would not criminalize them. I would ensure that they have the protection of the law. But if they want to exhibit their sexuality, then that’s an affront on the current norms of society.”
When asked if he can have a gay person in his cabinet, the ex-governor disclosed that: “I don’t want to know if he’s gay. It’s not my business. My business is if he can perform the assignment that he’s been assigned.”
Speaking on his plans for the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), he disclosed that he would scrap the agency because he does not want to subscribe to a force where people carry arms and ammunition all over the place without their uniforms.
