Tottenham Hotspur handed Manchester United their heaviest home defeat since 2004 in all competition in their Premier League encounter.

Lucas Moura's brace and a Harry Kane stunner ensured the Spurs maintained their 100% win run to the start of the 2018-19 season.

The Red Devils are now 13th on the English topflight table after the disappointing defeat to the Lilywhites at Old Trafford.

This recent defeat has now mounted pressure on United manager Jose Mourinho, who lost 3-2 against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Mourinho could only watch on as his defence crumbled in the second half despite a promising start to the match.

After which the Portuguese tactician applauded the fans at the Stretford End of the stadium after the defeat.

However, the fans at the club believes Mourinho was already saying goodbye with his long appreciation of the fans.

He also took time to thank the fans during the post match conference, while the 'third season syndrome' in Mourinho's career might be coming to play again.

After the game, he said: "All our fans don’t read papers. All our fans don’t watch TV, they are more intelligent.

"It isn’t normal for a team to lose at home and the supports react the way they did."

Harry Kane opened scoring for the Lilywhites while Lucas Moura's brace completed the victory for the visitors.
