- Gary Cahill is attracting offers from Villa this summer
- The 32-year-old was overlooked in Chelsea 2-1 over Newcastle last weekend
- Villa are considering a loan contract for the England defender
Former Premier League side Aston Villa are plotting to take Chelsea defence ace Gary Cahill back to the Championship side.
According to reports, the 32-year-old who was with England at the summer World Cup in Russia, recently stressed that he was keen to stay and fight for a starters spot at Chelsea after being linked with a switch.
Aston Villa will be counting on his previous stint with the club to rejoin the club.
The England international Cahill was snubbed by Chelsea Italian boss Maurizio Sarri in his squad that claimed a 2-1 win over Newcastle and it looks like he will find it hard to get playing time this campaign.
Cahill started his professional career with Aston Villa back in 2004 but was a regular during the 2006/07 season after cementing a regular spot in the team.
The England defender switched to Bolton before heading to Chelsea, where he has claimed two league titles, the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
The report added that the Championship side are proposing a loan deal but the defender and Chelsea are yet to agree or reject the proposal.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Chelsea have reportedly permitted star player Gary Cahill to speak with Turkish club Galatasaray over a possible move away from Stamford Bridge this month.
Turkish reports according to UK Sun claim that Galatasaray's president has met with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia to thrash out a deal for Gary Cahill.
