A 21-year-old Senior High School (SHS) student has shown tremendous skill in the field of innovation by creating a light-censored home theatre set and a model car.

Daniel Amoah is a second-year student of the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Tema, Ghana and is currently studying Electronics.

Although underprivileged, he has refused to let that define him and is rather striving to make new things with his innovative mind.

Intriguingly, all of Amoah‘s devices are sensitive to darkness and are immediately powered on when light falls on them.

In an exclusive interview with Accra-based Citi FM, he revealed that he started shaping his talent at age 8.

According to him, he used to make his products from waste materials which he often picked from the streets.

His light-censored model car is made from card board, instead of metal and can be controlled by a remote.

Meanwhile, his home theatre also boasts standard specs, including a radio, pen drive, memory card and Bluetooth slots.

Another of Daniel’s innovations is a water level indicator poly tank that automatically gets filled when empty and blows an alarm when full to capacity.

He is one of many brilliant but needy students whose educations have been fully sponsored as part of the Citi Opportunity Projects on Education (COPE).

Amoah is confident that he would be able to provide street lights for the streets of Ashaiman, where he currently lives with his brother.

According to him, any support from the public is welcome and that he is ready to collaborate with government in using his talents for more useful innovations.
