- Barcelona are eyeing the pair of Adrien Rabiot and Frenkie De Jong next summer
- Rabiot wants a new challenge and is yet to agree a deal at the French giants
- The Spanish side already have two offers for the Dutch ace rejected this summer
Spanish giants Barcelona have concluded plans to land some of Europe’s best talented players next summer.
According to a UK Sun report citing sources at Spain’s Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want 23-year-old Adrien Rabiot, who is set to reject PSG’s new deal to taste action in another league alongside Ajax youngster Frenkie De Jong.
The report further revealed that the midfielder is excited that the Nou Camp dwellers are keen to bring him on board despite missing out of the summer World Cup victory with France’s Les Blues.
The Frenchman according to FIFA’s rule are free to open talks with potential suitors Rabiot January next year when he enters that last six months left on his current contract.
Interestingly, Rabiot has frustrated PSG chiefs by refusing a new deal this summer, which was reportedly linked to force an offer the Barcelona.
At the last count, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has issued a deadline of September for Rabiot to pen a new deal but as things stand it seems the order will not change his decision.
The La Liga defending champions reportedly have agreed to splash out about £45m for Rabiot or sign him for free as a free agent in the summer.
Similarly, Barcelona moved Ajax youngster Frenkie De Jong this summer, but the Eredivise side rejected two offers.
Already, the starlet is attracting suitors on daily basis since he emerged in 2015 when he joined Ajax from Willem II.
Reacting in June about his future going forward the highly-talented youngster said: “I leave that to my agent.
"I do not know if he is working on it. Maybe, maybe not.”
Speaking further he refused to reveal how long he will remain at the Dutch side.
“Of course you can never promise that as a footballer.
“There may be a club tomorrow that offers so much that you are away. But as it stands, I play at Ajax."
Interestingly the pair of Tottenham and PSG are some of the top clubs that could hamper Barcelona’s chase for the talented midfielder.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Paris Saint Germain star Adrien Rabiot has reportedly rejected the new long term contract by the French League giants with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona this summer.
He will have a chance to leave the club next summer and decide the club he wants to join if he refuses to sign a new contract with the French club.
