A lawmaker representing Dutsin-ma/Kurfi federal constituency, Danlami Kurfi, has come hard on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over attack on the Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari.
He condemned allegation by the Katsina chapter of the PDP that Masari might have misappropriated funds accrued by the state.
Kurfi in a statement on Wednesday, September 5, said the attack on the governor by the opposition is baseless.
The Katsina lawmaker said lack of knowledge and understanding of the operations, achievements of the Katsina government under the leadership of Governor Masari must have prompted the allegation by the chairman of the PDP in the state, Salisu Majigiri.
Kurrfi said the governor since assuming office in 2015 has exhibited consistent commitment to the affairs of the Katsina people more than any governor in the country.
He said Masari has constantly distinguished himself by delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
The lawmaker urged the PDP leadship in the state to take a tour around Katsina and also engage residents on the many achievement of Masari.
"It is clear that most of these people have never taken time tour Katsina or at least engage residents in the state on efforts being made by Governor Aminu Masari.
"Governor Masari has shown strong leadership and commitment to serving the people of Katsina and this is evident in the rehabilitation of roads, schools, provision of portable and safe drinking water to households in the state.
"In agriculture and health, Governor Aminu Masari has surpassed his predecessors by 1,000 folds," Kurfi said.
He further noted that in all fairness, the Katsina state governor has operated in transparency through an open door policy that has yielded results within a short period of leadership.
Kurfi further urged the people of Katsina to discountenance the "rants" of the opposition which he said is aimed at distracting the present administration on already mapped out plans for the good of the residents.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the PDP chairman, Majigiri, had on Tuesday, September 4, given a breakdown of an alleged misappropriation of funds that had been accrued by the state since 2015.
According to Majigiri, apart from the allocation from the federal government, including the Paris Club refund, the state also got loans from the Islamic Development Bank and other financial institutions.
He also accused the APC government of numerous electoral malpractices.
