A women group, Noble Women Movement for Buhari and Osinbajo (NWM4BO), has concluded plans to stage a one million march to galvanise support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential elections.

The group made this known in a statement signed jointly by the group national president and its director of publicity, Mfawa Usani and Dr. Rachael Ahmadu respectively.

In the statement distributed to journalists, the group said the march was to consolidate on the massive support the present administration has recorded in the six geopolitical zones of the country.

The statement also revealed that wives of serving ministers and governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would lead the epoch event which has been slated to hold in Abuja on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Others to participate in the match include wives of lawmakers at the federal, state and local government levels, women nongovernmental organisations and youth groups.

The group described the forthcoming event as “mother of all political march,” adding that no amount of blackmail against the Buhari’s administration would change the minds of millions of Nigerians who are genuinely yearning for trusted leaders.

The group also assured that it would partner with other relevant groups to work assiduously to deliver Buhari/Osinbajo presidential joint ticket come 2019 general elections.

“We are going to deliver the party. We are prepared and our preparedness will be demonstrated on the planned one million march. We cannot be intimidated. Our women have our support and we shall come out victorious, because we have all it takes,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, INEC has announced that it is partnering with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) to send messages to owners of the uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) across the nation.

The national commissioner of INEC, Soyebi Adedeji, made this known on Monday, September 3, in Abuja at the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room Dialogue Session on the forthcoming Osun governorship election. Adedeji said that the measure became imperative in order to remind Nigerians of their civic duty so as to ensure a successful electoral process.

He said that the number of uncollected PVCs with the commission was of great concern, adding that this number could determine who wins or loses elections.
