Senators Ifeanyi Ararume and Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, September 5, joined the train of defectors in the country by dumping the party for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
They were said to have had a two-hour meeting with the national chairman of APGA, Dr Victor Oye, at the party's national secretariat in Abuja, where the defection was perfected, Vanguard reports.

Recall that the crack in the APC in Imo state further widened on Sunday, March 18, when its former national organising secretary, Osita Izunaso; Senators Ifeanyi Araraume and Benjamin Uwajiumogu stormed out of a meeting.
The closed-door meeting, which held at Concorde Hotel in Owerri, was still ongoing when the three party chieftains walked out midway.
The report said the meeting held “amidst tumultuous atmosphere from party faithful who had accompanied their leaders” and that it lasted for about two hours and 30 minutes and presided over by the state chairman, Hillary Eke.

The Senate president Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, July 24, on the floor of the Senate announced the defection of the senators from the ruling party to the PDP.
