2019: Andy Uba meets APC stakeholders, declares intention to return to Senate

- Senator Andy Uba has expressed his interest to return to the Nigerian Senate in 2019

- Uba made the declaration when he met with stakeholders in the senatorial district on Friday, September 7

- He assured the people that if re-elected, he will do more as a ranking senator

The senator representing the people of Anambra south senatorial district, Andy Uba, has declared his interest to re-contest for the senatorial seat in the 2019 elections.

Uba, a former governor the state, made the disclosure on Friday, September 7, during a meeting with a number of stakeholders and party leaders from the seven local government areas that constitute the senatorial zone.

He highlighted his major achievements in the present Senate, describing his efforts so far in ensuring that his constituents were well represented by way of his bills, motions and constituency projects in the Senate.

He, however, admitted that though he had not been able to address all issues pertaining to the district as no one could, he urged the stakeholders to ensure his election, stating that as a ranking senator he would do more if he is reelected.

Reacting, a number of stakeholders commended the senator for his forthrightness and good works as well as his regular meetings with his constituents.

They described Uba's concerns for the people as genuine, even as they promised their unalloyed support for his re-election bid.

Meanwhile, a women group, Noble Women Movement for Buhari and Osinbajo (NWM4BO), has concluded plans to stage a one million march to galvanise support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential elections.

The group made this known in a statement signed jointly by the group national president and its director of publicity, Mfawa Usani and Dr. Rachael Ahmadu respectively.

In the statement distributed to journalists, the group said the march was to consolidate on the massive support the present administration has recorded in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
