- Italy defender Daniele Rugani has been offered an improved deal by Juventus to shun offers from other club
- The Blues were said to have made a mega deal for the defender but both parties did not agree terms
His current deal with the Italian League giants runs out in the summer of 2021
Chelsea target Daniele Rugani is reportedly set to sign new improved deal with his Italian League side Juventus.
The Old Lady are doing all they can to keep their defender in Turin despite being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer.
His current deal with the Serie A champions is due to expire in 2021, but the Turin based club are trying to tie up all loose ends to keep him at the club.
According to the Sun quoting Corriere dello Sport Rugani's agent claimed he rejected a "really big" bid from the Blues last month.
As Chelsea boss Sarri wants to reunite with the player he managed while at Empoli in a bid to strengthen his squad.
However, Juve managed to keep Rugani by offering him new deal despite re-signing Leonardo Bonucci from AC Milan.
The Sun forther report that Massimiliano Allegri has made the 23-year-old's contract renewal a priority, with the Italian seen as quality replacement for veteran centre-back Andrea Barzagli.
This means that Chelsea will have to beam their searchlight elsewhere as they continue their search for reinforcements at the back.
Reports coming from the Stamford Bridge reveals that Sarri is not satisfied with the combination of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger at the back.
Despite playing at the heart of Antonio Conte’s three-man defence last season, Andreas Christensen has been relegated to the bench, while Gary Cahill is yet to make match day squad on his return from Russia.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Premier League side Chelsea are ready to increase their previous £36m bid to £45m for Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani.
SunSport citing Goal.com revealed the West London side are eager to sign the 23-year-old Italy international this summer.
The Italian played under new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri while at Empoli and is being rated as one of the future stars Italy’s Azzurri.
