- Not less than seven APC governorship aspirants in Nasarawa state have bought expression of interest and nomination forms
- Meanwhile five PDP governorship aspirants in the state had also bought their forms ahead of 2019 polls
- In total, 12 governorship aspirants from both parties are set for the governorship polls
Seven All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Nasarawa state have purchased expression of interest and nomination forms, Leadership reports.
Aspirants who purchased forms includes the current deputy governor of the state, Silas Ali Agara, Abdullahi A. Sule, and Architect Ibrahim Jaafaru, current member representing Nasarawa and Toto, federal constituency at the National Assembly.
Others are Aliyu Ahmed Wadada, former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Danladi Halilu Evulanza, former registrar of National Judicial Commission (NJC), Alhaji Dauda Shuiabu Kigbu, a retired federal permanent secretary and Alhaji Zakari Idde, the immediate past APC national vice chairman, north central zone.
In total, 17 APC aspirants have indicated interests to contest for the governorship seat in the state. A source from the state secretariat of the APC revealed that with the extension of the date to purchase forms, more aspirants are expected to obtain the forms.
Meanwhile, five out of the six PDP governorship aspirants in the state had also bought their forms.
They are Senator Phillip Aruwa Gyunka, Senator representing Nasarawa north senatorial district, Senator Solomon Ewuga, former FCT minister of State, Dameshi Luka, former deputy governor, Senator Patricia Akwashiki, former minister of Information and David Emmanuel Ombugadu, current Member representing Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon federal constituency.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that Chief Musa Muhammed Maikaya, a leading governorship aspirant in Nasarawa under the APC had revealed his plans to provide access a minimum of N1 billion every year for entrepreneurial ventures across the state, specifically for unemployed youths.
Maikaya made the disclosure recently during an interaction with select journalists over his ambition to lead the state in 2019.
