Adejare Bello, a former speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Punch reports.
Bello, a native of Ede, the hometown of the governorship candidate of the PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke, confirmed his resignation of membership on Monday, September 10.
Acquaintances, like the director of publicity, research and strategy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kunle Oyatomi, confirmed that Bello has joined the ruling party.
Bello was the running mate of Senator Iyiola Omisore, who was the candidate of the PDP during the 2014 governorship election in the state.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that SDP candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, had expressed confidence that his popularity will earn him victory in the September 22 governorship election in Osun state. Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state, said this during an interview on Sunday, September 9.
His words: “I am the most popular candidate in Osun state now. The issue is that Osun politics is Omisore and others. You don’t just do a bedroom analysis or beer parlour analysis; let us wait and see the result of the election.”
