England left-back and Manchester United ace Luke Shaw is likely to sit out of the Red Devils next two matches after suffering a concussion during England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain at the Wembley.

According to a UK Mirror report, Shaw has returned to Old Trafford, where he will be further assessed by the club’s medical staff.

The reported noted that the left-back will not be in contention for the Red Devils away trip to Vicarage Road where they face Watford on Saturday, as well as their Champions League opener against Swiss side, Young Boys a week on Tuesday.

The report further claim United are not keen on taking risk with Shaw injury and are likely to keep out the 23-year-old until he fully recovers from the injury he cropped with Spain’s Daniel Carvajal.

Interestingly, the FA and Premier League have already cautioned clubs not to allow any player that suffered concussion, to return to action for a minimum of six days.

However, the Red Devils are likely to hand the England star, who has turned out decent performances for the Jose Mournho-tutored side since the start of the new campaign, a longer time, to sit out their next two fixtures.

Reacting on Shaw’s injury, Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has dispatched a get well message to his club mate after the clash of heads.

“The worst news from the match was Luke Shaw’s collision, which forced him off the field due to injury,” noted the Spaniard even as he wished him all the best.

“As you’re all aware, he has been in really good form over the last few weeks. I hope that it won’t be anything serious and that he can be back fit as soon as possible.
