Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday night, September 11, defeated Liberia 2-1 in an international friendly match which was played to retire the number 14 jersey of President George Weah.

Henry Onyekuru who made a return to the Super Eagles scored the first goal in the 11th minute after a brilliant assist from John Ogu.

Simeon Nwankwo netted the second goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 33rd minute as he gained from a superb corner kick played by Etebo.

Liberia scored their only goal in the 89th minute via a penalty through Palsama, but they could not score the needed goal that would have saved them from a defeat as Nigeria won the match 2-1.
