- Barcelona target Ilkay Gundogan is planning to reject offer to leave his present club
- He has two more years on his current contract with Man City after joining them in 2016
- The 27-year-old wants to sign a new long term deal with the EPL champions
Germany international Ilkay Gundogan is reportedly planning to shun offers from Barcelona and commit his future to Manchester City.
The 27-year-old joined the Premier League champions from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2016 and earns £90,000-a-week at the club.
His current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2020 and he will be happy to continue his reign with the EPL outfit.
According to Dailymail, Italian League giants AC Milan are also interested in signing the midfielder, who has scored seven goals in over 40 appearances for his present club.
Meanwhile, SunSport claims the German star is hoping to sign an improved new long term deal with his present club.
The Sun further reveals that Gundogan 'loves' playing under Guardiola and is comfortable in Manchester.
He was one of the first signings by the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager when he succeeded Manuel Pellegrini in 2016.
While his debut season was disrupted by series of injuries, he played an important role to help his side win the league and Carabao Cup in 2018.
Gundogan will return to City after the international break where he was whistled by a section of the home crowd in Germany's draw with France last week.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Manchester City players got into wild celebrations with the Premier League trophy after being officially crowned champions of England.
But the trophy took a tumble after it was slightly displaced by Oleksandr Zinchenko and it fell in the grass.
German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan sent a funny tweet concerning the incident and said: "Does anyone knows a place that repairs trophies? Asking for a friend."
