IGP Idris should appear before Senate as required - Former IGP Abba

Suleiman Abba, former Inspector General of Police (IGP), has urged current IGP Ibrahim Kpotun Idris to honour the Senate by appearing before it to defend himself.

Abba who formally picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to represent Jigawa central at the upper legislative chamber said nobody could defend the IGP better than himself.

The former IGP wants to contest on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a video shared by Oak TV, he said: "I will certainly advise the IGP to respond by going there. I don't think in any situation, there is anybody to defend you except yourself.

"Of course we have lawyers who represents the interest of their clients buy in all situation, this is my personal belief. Your personal defence is always better. I have always appeared before the Senate whenever they needed me.

"Even at a time everybody thought differently, I appeared before a committee of the Senate. to make a clear presentation of what the situation was. And I think it went on fine.

NAIJ.com had reported that Suleiman Abba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Monday, September 10, declared that he is running for a seat in the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
