A plane overshot the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, leaving many passengers stranded on Wednesday night, September 12.
The development was made public in a Twitter post put up by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa).
NAIJ.com notes that the lawmaker said many people were stranded because the authorities could not provide the equipment to clear the runway.
As he tweeted:
Another Twitter user, Gbemi Dennis, also raised an alarm over the development.
Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that a Dana aircraft overshot the runway and landed in the bush around the airport area upon touchdown.
The aircraft was reportedly flying from Lagos to Port Harcourt when the incident happened. The passengers were quickly evacuated and no casualty was reported.
Before that incident, there was report of panic among passengers of Dana Airline, as the door of one of its aircrafts reportedly fell off upon landing with some occupants saying the door panel had been loose throughout the flight.
One of the passengers on the flight, Dapo Sanwo, confirmed that the door panel had been loose all through the flight. He said it showed the aircraft lacked maintenance.
